  1. Great day for U2 haters for two reasons: the explanation of tax avoidance and The Edge hitting the ground. I've seen so much U2 hate on social media today, it just makes me so angry. Just trying to ignore it.

I have also seen lots of love...the explanation of Bono sounds quite sensible, but haters are never going to turn around. "Yes, but..."
  3. the tax thing is getting old and has been "explained" multiple times. dead horse and all that. get over it already.
  4. Really? Did they mention the start of an awesome tour as well or only that he fell of stage?
  5. Sorry for the big long boring post...

More thoughts as I remember from last night:

1st third of the 1st half, Ramone - I Will Follow
Nice energy, imho lacks just a little bit of punch and Vertigo seems to be a bit out of place in there for me.

    2nd third of the 1st half, Iris-Cedarwood-SFS
Loved the songs, loved the theatrics, loved the effects, loved the mofo snippet, sonds perfect as Iris intro...
On the other hand, Bono speaking between them messes with the flow of those songs.

    3rd third of the 1st half, SBS-Wolves-UTEOTW
Great transition from SBS into Wolves.
End sounds great, always a highlight for me, but I'm not sure if I liked it at that moment... the show was just starting to get darker and it kinda brakes the mood (for me), but regardless of that, it sounded great and the imagery was amazing aswell.

1st half of the 2nd half. Invisible-Sweetest Thing
The weakest part of the show for me. I still haven't seen Invisible (which is the song I'm more interested from this group), but the whole moment seemed to me disjointed... for me it was just some random songs to fill the space.
Disappointed that the mirror balls were just for Mysterious Ways.
I didn't liked the Swettest Thing phone gimmick.

    2nd half of the 2nd half. Wave-WOWY
I really loved this whole sequence... full band wave would've been better, but then it wouldn't have translated that well into Bullet.
(Can somebody please transcript/paraphrase Bono's rant in here? I like to brag that I understand english, but I really struggle to understand it sometimes )
Then Hands -some find it great, some find it boring- gets snippeted (so it's still great AND it's not boring) leads great into Pride
Then Troubles begin and I really really loved the first notes of the song (I wasn't expecting it and it gave me goosebumps), and I loved that Edge played more of that truncated solo at the end.
And that led pretty good into WOWY. Sadly no shinning stars...

    Encore
I think it was great, loved City and Beautiful Day... I think the intro for Streets could've been better (and I was expecting a different snippet... where is Sting?)
I'm afraid we'll have to get used to Haven't Found as a closer, but yeah it feels like the show is incomplete closing with that...

    General stuff
I liked Bono's look in the promo pics... but it really doesn't work in the show.
Macphisto was that old retired rock star doing shows in Las Vegas, that's what Bono looks like. Hair, suit and mannerisms combined seem a bit off to me.

(He looks like he was just passing by on his way to a dinner and he stopped to play a couple of songs without caring too much.)
  6. Added 50+ photos from last night, all high-res and very high-quality to our show pages.

    Awesome stuff included:
  7. Adam looks great. Bono looks old. I'm trying to imagine this show in Barcelona or Dublin or Milan. You could drive a car through the GA area and not hit anyone !!
  8. Watching that youtube video posted earlier, what great sound! Can't believe they did Out of Control and I Will Follow. Love hearing the real early stuff, and it still gets the crowd going!

This is going to be The Unforgettable Tour
  9. Only the fall. And that his name was the Edge hehe
