1. That's a perfect summary.
  2. On a side note, here's an interesting read from Tim Neufelt and his periscope-recordings (including a link to a pdf-guide).

    - Tim is recording/broadcasting with external mics, which are in truth earphones with build in mics...
  3. if you have a smart phone you have a recorder.when they collect 16,000 cellphones plus then i would worry.
  4. Who are "they" and since when are cellphones being collected at u2 concerts?

  5. I think he's talking about the previous posts regarding taping shutdowns, taping gear being confiscated, etc. Some smartphones are able to pull out good recordings nowadays, that's why he says "there's 15.000 [potential] recorders in there". Guards can confiscate one or two recording devices, but not 15.000
  6. The European leg is coming! If you want to tape some concert(s) and don't know where to start, this is your place!

Summer is always a good moment to get second-hand gear on the cheap... So don't leave it until it's too late, and get your hands on some recorder and mics NOW and go practice so you're ready when U2 comes to town!
  7. Just don't let your dog get at your mics
  8. I feel your pain.

I don't know how many times I've been assembling the gear stash (which has A LOT of random cables/connectors), and the cats decide its the most interesting thing in the world. Shoo shoo shoo!
  9. Yeah, it's painful. Worst thing is that my house is literally FULL of differently shaped dog toys, and still their prefer my guitar capos and hypercardioid microphones
  10. At least the caps are ok--you can jury-rig up the wire connections without too much craziness, it just won't be pretty.

My little cat just loves AA batteries...which I always just have too many lying around.
