I’m pretty sure the majority of fans attending would prefer stay,TUF and wild horses over the ocean, iris and cedarwood road. Ok UTEOTW is a bit of a crowd pleaser but the version of SBS they were playing was even disappointing. Even looking at the set from an unselfish point of view it just seems better for all types of fan.
  2. You can never please everyone.

I like Stay and it is cool it is full band, but not a massive fan of the song. I think if they put Landlady in there like they were working on with a cool use of the screen then they would have it.
Don't get me wrong, this is cool, but the pacing seems just a tad off to me. Probably different in person as it usually is versus looking at words on a computer screen!
Just watched the video, they need to make better use of the screen for at least 2 of the songs.
I don't think Bono can sing the high notes in Landlady, because of his voice problems. I think SBS really works, only in the full Innocence block.
  4. I don’t think people are that bothered about how often the screen is used , I would say it being used sparingly actually makes it more effective, it was like 360 when the screen came down for TUF it didn’t need to be like that all show to serve its purpose it was used when it needed to be.
  5. Indeed, this "slow" version never was my favorite, but I often was impressed by the dedication of the band to this song (they never seemed to "dial it in", as they say - that's my impression at least). And equally impressive was the crowd's response to this song.

I don't agree. I think people are bothered about how often the screen is used. Especially in the expensive seats and also people with platinum tickets. I don't think the people in GA are bothered. They don't care.

I think it was better in the acoustic way, the first shows of I+E. And I love this version:

  8. Haha I can't believe some of you are complaining

Band at the start of the tour
    - The band is playing the Innocence section and MacPhisto is back! To hell with them, they are lazy

Band at the middle of the tour
    - They are dropping the Innocence section songs and the setlists are stale! They are lazy!

    Band yesterday
    - They dropped the Innocence section and they are not using the screen! The setlist is shorter. They are lazy!

I was never complaining about the innocence section.

People will always find a reason to complain about the band. Sometimes it’s petty stuff and sometimes it just comes from a passion for the band. We all probably dream up the ideal Setlist and how to perform it and when the band inevitably don’t tick every single box people have a moan. To be fair could I still make last nights show better for me? Yes I could, but could I realistically ask for more from the band than what they gave us last night? Not really. 4 European leg debuts, 2 tour debuts and all high standard of song performed well, that’s enough boxes ticked for me.
