  1. GA's are $130 AUD (90 USD) through the official channels. Pretty good value I think.

Lovely time of the year to be in Sydney too
  2. I was at the ground on Friday night for the AFL and looking at how small the players were at the other end of the ground; thinking "yup, the band's gonna be about that big on the stage"
  3. Trust me if I make enough money this summer and my calendar is open I would love to visit Australia

It's never any other way at any stadium unless you are in the front 20 rows.
  5. I think you're underestimating how big Australian football stadiums are
  6. Agree. The only time I spent any time at a U2 show in the seats was 360 Vegas, at Sam Boyd stadium. The smallest stadium on the leg. Half the show down on the field, then the second half in the stands in the very back row (40 I think), right beside the CLAW. I could see the hauling trucks behind me in the carpark, & had a great view of the show, all for 30-odd dollars.

Certainly will be a different experience from the seats this time around. Anything in Australia, other than Suncorp, is going to be a long, long way away.
  7. I think the big stadium aspect adds to the grandeur of the event... I was on level 2 directly in front of the stage in Melbourne on Vertigo Tour and it was amazing! Could see people up on level 3 dancing and jumping and having a great time which was amazing to see (especially during streets).

Also, let me ask you all this, would you care so much if you had have been near the back at one of the Slane Castle concerts in 2001? I would doubt it, and there you would at ground level. As long as the band are putting on a killer performance and the crowd are getting into it then its awesome anyway.

My point being, being a fair way back and being elevated in the stands beats the hell out of being a fair way back at ground level...
  8. Also beats not being there at all.
The reality is, whether it's a stadium, arena or even a theatre show, being close to the stage is always better.
  9. ....
  10. Interesting to see Elton John is playing the new Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta. Makes more sense going there than the SCG like U2 are, it's a rectangular stadium with the steepest terraces in the country.
  11. But it's in Parramatta
