  1. Cheers ballardmama - think I just replied to your post on zootopia 😀.

This was livenation’s response to my query so you should try for you RZ again when general sale opens:

“There is a chance some of the categories of tickets will not be sold for general sale.
If tickets are not paid by the customers who have won the lottery, these tickets will be sold on general sale.

There will be an English application for the general on sale, and will not require a registration.”

Even though I set up my credit card in advance for a foreign transaction, my bank declined the tickets thinking it was fraud. I was allocated RZ tickets which makes it even more frustrating. So like you I’m looking at the general sale. I hate the idea of buying tickets on the second hand market for this show. I’m hoping there might be some GA left or that there might be a fan out there who ends up with a couple extra GA in the coming months. Good luck in your ticket hunt!
Welcome ballardmama This is a great forum, plenty of very knowledgeable fans, who are very passionate about U2

Just be aware that, as is common in Japan & South Korea, we're expecting GA entry to be based on the order tickets are purchased. This isn't confirmed, but it's what people are expecting to happen. So a GA purchase in the general sale will gain access to GA later than those people that purchased tickets earlier on. I'm sure being anywhere in GA should be great, but just a heads-up, if you're the type of person that usually likes to wait & get real close.
  3. Thanks for the welcome and the heads up about numbering. I have tickets to the Seoul show and I remember reading that some shows in Asia are numbered ordered. Fortunately I have low numbers for Seoul (thanks fan club!). I like to do the line up for a few hours, never the overnight thing. Mainly I just like hanging out and getting to know other fans in line. At this point, I’m just going to be happy to get in the door for Japan and be somewhere in GA. It’s all good to me. I’ve already been to a few Joshua Tree concerts so I’ll be happy with just being in the house.
  4. Yeah I’m a low number for Seoul too, in the first 20! Be nice if they let us in that order instead of queuing especially as winter there then!!

Seoul 2 doesn’t sound on from email I got asking.
  5. I’m still looking for 2 standing tickets for Japan 2. I’ve been browsing second-hand ticket sites just to see what’s out there. I’d much rather buy from a fan if something comes up. In reading on the Pia ticket site, it says that tickets can’t be resold or transferred. Can anyone shed light on the resale ticket market in Japan and if I bought tickets if they would be invalidated somehow? Like do they have the seller’s name or credit card info on the ticket or how would the arena know if they’d been resold? I’ve bought second hand tickets in the US but I’m not sure if it’s possible in Japan. Just trying to figure out my options. Thanks!

*If anyone has any extra standing tickets to sell, I’d be so grateful.

Well you have to go to a 7-11 in Japan and present the ticket confirmation to the cashier who will ask for ID presumably as well before printing off the tickets.

I think they’ve also just introduced strict ticket reselling rules in Japan ahead of Tokyo 2020.
  7. My Japanese friend told me it is illegal to sell or buy second hand tickets in front of the venue.
I think you should check different forums. I'm sure some people won't be able to go eventually and they'll have extra tickets.

Additionally, I believe tickets can't be picked up from 7-Eleven until October, so I don't think people have seen their tickets. So no idea if they've got names on them.

As Welsh_Edge says, I've heard scalping laws are getting tougher, ahead of the Olympics. Previously only scalping in front of venues was banned, & the online resale market was allowed, & flourished. But I think times are changing.
  9. I can see how they could not allow reselling of tickets around a venue, but I’m curious how you can control online reselling. Maybe the purchaser’s name is on the ticket but do venues actually ask for identification? I see several second hand tickets available online, some listed as fan club tickets. In the US, U2 has had some shows that we’re credit card entry only (GA only if I remember correctly) so no paper tickets and no transferring. That seemed to help lower the scalping market somewhat. I’m curious how this will work out for those of us still looking for tickets.
  10. If they're serious, they can start by going after the resale sites.

Many Australian states have anti-scalping laws. In NSW it's unlawful to sell tickets for more than 10% above face. Individuals can be fined $11,000 per breach, the reseller site $22,000. Last I looked it seemed to be working for legitimate resellers, like Ticketmaster Resale. Which only had one ticket available for resale, which abided by the laws (less than 10% above face, but with huge resale fees). I'm not sure how the laws are working in other states. International sites like Viagogo don't abide by the laws, & it seems impossible to enforce them. Same goes for Craigslist, not sure if they are abiding by the law.

There should be numbers on the tickets when you get them in Japan. You enter as that number.
