Originally posted by Happy24:I finally managed to see the Berlin concert. I think it is shot wonderfully, it really captures the gig, which doesn't happen very often with official releases. I aggree that it could a bit lighter, but not more than just a tiny bit. As I wrote, it was really rather dark, but yeah, I admit, that this is a bit darker than I remember. Other than that, I love it. The slow cuts, the focus on the band...I was in the second row by the main stage and yes, my ego would be happy if I saw myself in the film, which I didn't and I am really happy that there is very little footage of fans. It is really a U2 concert...
By the way - a concert movie cen be absoultely ruined by focussing more on fans than on the stage - Paul McCartney Back in the US (2002) and McCartney Live at The Red Square (2004) are absolutely unwatchable. I love Paul, but those videos are beyond ridiculous...the fans, plus there are like two cuts every second.
Anyway, I am really looking forward to this release, I can imagine it might make me to go and buy a Bluray player, just like another U2 video made me buy a DVD player - I bought the Boston Elevation in 2001 before I had a player. I watched it at my friend's place back then. It was the first time I saw a DVD and the first time I heard the surround sound. I remember how blown away I was. I bought my first home cinema a couple of days later. So now, 19 years later, U2 might make me to buy a Bluray, which I thought I would never get. Well...
