1. Originally posted by iTim:This was long my favourite song from Pop, but recently Do You Feel Loved has pushed it close. However, once I listen to the live versions, particularly the live B-side to Elevation, I remember why it's still number one. I'd love to have it back in the set.
That live b-side is amazing. I love it.
  2. Random trivia: as far as I know, Last Night On Earth is the very only song on U2's catalogue that got played at every single show of its tour and remained 100% confined there, not having appeared ever since (or before) in any other form.

There are many other candidates that almost fit the bill but all of them were performed at promo shows from the tour, or in-between random dates like festivals or radio/TV specials, or as snippets in subsequent tours. The only other four songs that come close are:
-Rejoice, which was played at almost every regular October tour show (missed just a handful of shows, plus the ones for which there is no setlist known), but it was played at two TV shows.
-Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, which was played at every Vertigo Tour show and hasn't appeared ever since, but it was premiered at some of the promo shows in late 2004.
-If You Wear That Velvet Dress, which missed only three dates at the very beggining of the Popmart tour and also was briefly snippeted at a Vertigo Tour show.
-Crazy Tonight, same case as SYCMOYO. It was played at every 360 show (even played twice in Barcelona2!) and hasn't appeared ever since, but it was premiered at some of the promo shows in early 2009.
  3. good research there
  4. Interesing indeed
  5. Is the LNOE version/mix on the Elevation single the same as the version on the Hasta La Vista Baby CD?

My recollection is they are the same...I own both but only have the Elevation single on CD and don’t have a CD player anymore - otherwise I’d just compare them myself...

Last night on Earth isn’t on hasta la vista.
  7. Ha! Thank you. I must have added it from the Elevation single when I digitized the Hasta CD.

    Never mind!

I can confirm it’s an amazing live version of the song!
  8. Anything from E+I? 13? Lights of Home, etc...

Two tracks from the Mexico City concert not included on Hasta La Vista Baby! were later released as b-sides to “Beautiful Day:” “Last Night on Earth” and “If You Wear That Velvet Dress.” The Mexico City performance of “Discotheque,” which was included on Hasta La Vista Baby!, was also a “Beautful Day” b-side.

On tonight's edition of "I'm bored off my tits because the pandemic had gone on do long that I've literally done everything else possible on EARTH"... (as if that's not exactly the sort of trivia that I love... 😅)
  11. Mofo?
  12. Been snippeted a bunch, not that it was ever done justice.

Later rehearsed as a rock n' roll version for the Vertigo Tour but never saw the light of day there.
