1. I think generally I’d be more interested in them rearranging songs that didn’t really work live before so that they do work live now . I love what they did with RHMT on the JT anniversary tours. There’s some songs that ended up having to be acoustic to work that I’d like to see more of a full band arrangement even if it was still acoustic guitar but backed by drums, bass and an orchestra. Looking at they type of songs specifically I’d pick out

Best thing, every breaking wave, Yahweh, ground beneath her feet, staring at the sun,

I enjoy all of them acoustically but think they’ve still got more to offer live even best thing and staring at the sun that were attempted full band I think still have potential.
  2. This sounds a bit like what Blondie did back in 2014 with 4(0)-Ever, recording 11 new versions of some of their biggest hits. While there was some variation in the mixing, they were still largely faithful to the original, with perhaps the most noticeable difference being from the aging of Deborah Harry’s vocals. As a longtime fan this wasn’t offensive but neither was it revelatory. I can only hope U2 don’t follow a similar path and instead take the opportunity to substantially reimagine some of their biggest songs but also, as Dean requests, tackle some of the lesser known songs.
  3. I'm guessing they'll play their strongest hand as in reworking the biggest hits and well known songs as that will appeal to a wider audience which has always been their priority, however maybe there will be a deluxe version with some rarer songs on it that would appeal to the hardcore fanbase.
  4. I’m hoping for I Will Follow to be reworked, but not acoustically.
  5. God I hope it’s not all acoustic.
  6. Just had a thought. Is there any chance of finished versions of Mercy or North Star making it onto this album?
  7. I thought of this as well. This would be the opportunity for Mercy.
  8. No acoustic versions please.
  9. I hope this project is musically more like an AB Kindergarten take on tracks than an MTV Unplugged album.

Call this U2 Graduate School. Let them take whatever they’ve learned musically over the years and apply that new lens to the old tracks to reinvent them - I’m not really interested in a bunch of stripped down acoustic takes.
  10. i think we might be hearing something in a similar vein to the reworked version of Tomorrow?
  11. predictions a part, is this thing confirmed and is it a real thing or the only information that we have is the only one that we’ve got on april 1st?

Hopefully we get a more focused Get on Your Boots maybe stripped back on piano. Maybe they might also do collaborations? A rap verse on red hill mining town with Kanye would be interesting! So excited!

    Lol , sarcasm ?
