    Playing I/E, JT17, E/I and JT/19 is cutting down on touring ?

Too nervous to play without the stages, the screens and the gimmicks.

last time they played a festival it was very underwhelming, so no thanks
  5. Maybe they should do it without being jetlagged, with not too much production.

Just go out and simply play some songs. They did well at those festivals in the 1980ies, they can do it again.

I'd love to see them play BST Hyde Park.
  6. I think it be good for them to just play the songs as mentioned. As much as say for example the EI tour was great I hated the whole idea of a narrative and certain songs to fit a story so only so many songs they could choose or it wouldn't go. Just go out play a load of songs and who cares what order there in or what and if they mean anything. A good songs a good song at the end of the day. Its not the theatre which the EI tour sometimes felt like
  7. Exactly and AMEN!
  8. Technically U2’s last festival was Bonnaroo, where they played a slightly cut down version of the JT17 setlist.

I wish U2 could just show up at a festival and play through a bunch of U2 songs without having to have a narrative or too much video production. I always say the best U2 setlist I ever saw was when I saw a U2 cover band. They just blasted through a combination of hits and deep cuts just because they were U2 songs.
  9. They're not the same band. Not even close!
  10. Now to start or find a thread for next tour predictions/speculation..I got the innocence/experience themes and thought it was cool, but I'm hoping they kind of go back to basics a la Elevation..the band and four screens playing in a venue.. that's it
