U2 - Songs Of Surrender (2023)

  1. think there will be a cd release of about 14 songs and also a cd of 40 songs.....40 chapters in Bono`s book all named after a u2 song...it makes sense that the re-workings will be the 40 song titles in the chapters of the book....i am betting it will be very much old standards with the majority of fans having heard most of them before...it will be re enactments of songs they have performed on their acoustic stage over the years...there will be very few surprises...i am more looking forward to the new album even though Ryan Tedder is yet again involved...my feelings on the band these days are Bono`s voice is unable to perform live over a course of 2 and half hours never mind a prolonged tour...he did sound great on "Song saved my life"...but that was obviously studio produced...Larry doesn't want to be there anymore but doesn't want to be the 1st to leave ..he would rather be at acting school......Adam has never known if it is New york or New Year......Edge is probably the only one who retains his original talent and enthusiasm

    Some points here are a bit off the mark ,Bono is well able to sing for over 2 hours on the last JT tour in 2019 and E&I tour apart from 1 night in Berlin he sounded great I didn't hear anyone complaining about his voice at any of the gigs I was at, as regards any of them not wanting to be there they could have walked anytime over the last 40 odd years ,they were all multi millionaires by the early 90s and could have done various things instead of U2.

    Nothing I love more than insight from someone that doesn’t have any insight. I know very little about the inner workings of u2 at the moment, but I feel better because someone clearly knows less than I do.. most of the shows from 2015 onwards were well over two hours, Larry has always been Larry, Adam has been along for the ride, and edge is edge. Any hearsay beyond that point is just moot

    So.. Bono didn't sing full concerts in 2019? He may not have a Lovetown or ZooTV voice anymore, but he's still got it. And the comment about Edge probably being the only one who retains his original talent..well I highly disagree. Adam's playing in the last 12 years is arguably the best of his 40+ year career. And what really do we know about any "enthusiasm" the band may or may not have? There's like three different threads in this response lol

  10. Not really a delay as it hadn’t been announced yet. There was never going to be an announcement of the album until they were sure it can get into stores. I am interested in whether or not anything is digitally released on the original timeframe.

    The audiobook on CD is likewise “delayed”. But that one had been announced. But the digital versions will still be released in November.
