1. A lot of artist are doin' it that way. I would almost think that Amazon is demanding it's own press.

The bundled album no longer counts towards charts. So now a days artists use these multiple pressings, and deeply discounted bundle pricing to reach the charts. Taylor Swift had 4 covers available each in four different coloured vinyl, plus exclusive colours at other retailers. Inhaler did this and got a #1 with their debut album a couple of years ago...Muse recently did the same to drive their own album up the charts. Bloc Party. Foals. Gorillaz. All are turning to such practices to try to increase their sales and thus their chart positions.

Wow really? That's strange. I was going to buy tickets for The Courteeners the other day but the only tickets they had left was a "ticket + CD album" bundle so I assumed it still counted.
  4. I also wonder in which chart they count albums bought via u2.com. I ordered mine in EUshop. I don't think that counts in dutch charts
  5. Get on your own way. Yeesh. A songs that’s a bit too young to need reimagined?
  6. Is this not the second re-imagination then, given the delay on SOE to revisit the album given the world at that point according to them.
  7. I just rewatched the Colbert performance of WOWY.

Now THAT is an amazing example of reimagining a song. The harp and cello sound fantastic, and Mr. Jacknife Lee knows how to use a keyboard!

The arrangement honors the original, while allowing Bono to find new tones and feelings in the song. It's as magnificent as some of Leonard Cohen's late performances.
  8. SOS - seems as apt acronym for a band that definitely is sending out a message as to where they are creatively

i wouldn't mind this shit if they also released some new and exciting material - but no no no they go chopping again at the joshua tree of credibility standing too close as it falls crashing down onto their legacy

come on U2 give us something to be proud of - stop tinkering around with old stuff and use all that talent to make something good

maybe they can't and this is where we are at? man, that's sad

but hey ho - let's leave them to rehashing their back catalogue rather than adding to it

    shame

They're releasing a new album later this year?
