Performance

Another great Zoo TV show but having listened to more 1993 shows in the past weeks I kinda feel like the energy was still a bit more there in 1992 - especially Bono seems to hold back more on this leg, often using his falsetto and softer tone more (which isn't bad) but also often speaksinging lines (one big example for this being 'New Year's Day') which I'm not a fan of.

On the other hand, this show has a few truly outstanding performances with LOTS and loads of energy, like Bono going on a yelling spree at the end of 'Until the End of the World'. Additionally, the new songs from the 'Zooropa' all go down like fine wine - the only exception being 'Babyface': Bono's vocal delivery seems weak and insecure and it's no wonder they would drop the song after this show.

'Bad' is a very confusing performance as Bono forgets some words early on but then nails an incredible first chorus only to "ruin" it again with the second chorus being done in full falsetto - the finale with its snippets also feels a bit barebones and rushed. 'Bullet the Blue Sky' is a (positively) chaotic performance with OUTSTANDING guitar work from The Edge, absolutely tearing it up, single handedly making this one a highlight. Larry's drumming is excellent as well.

The encore begins with a very campy 'Desire', fitting with MacPhisto's whole shtick. Some of the best performances of the evening follow with Bono sounding fabulous as does the rest of the band. 'With or Without You' unfortunatelly misses the extra verse tonight.

Sound

Sound would be great if it wasn't brickwalled by a bootleg label.
Recording: Audience microphone - 4 stars

Audience

Great audience as expected! The confessions were once again very random, funny, concerning and absolutely delightful.
