Performance

'Mofo' is a terrific start to this show as Bono keeps shouting the title during the intro and gives an incredibly energetic performance for the song. The energy also present during 'I Will Follow' absolutely matches that of 'Lovetown' versions of the song even though this arrangement is missing the bridge. The Edge hits a bum note right towards the end but that doesn't diminish how terrific the song was otherwise! 'Gone' continues the streak of great performances and features Bono showing everything his voice to offer, from incredible belts to very soft and silken falsetto, the Edge's backing vocals are as awesome as always. 'Even Better Than the Real Thing' is quite solid but not as outstanding as the previous three songs. 'Last Night on Earth' is so powerful that Bono almost overshoots the high notes during the first chorus. It is otherwise solid performance of the song. The same goes for the following 'Until the End of the World' - the 'Break on Through' snippet is an excellent touch! 'New Year's Day' is one of the weaker renditions on the tour as Bono pretty much fails during the second verse, which is already weakened by the strange approach Bono always does on this tour.

The set continues with the live staples 'Pride' and 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For', both of which sound great with wonderful audience participation, the latter featuring Bono's thank you speech of the evening. Unfortunately, he also sounds quite a bit rough here and even hits a good few notes notably flat. 'All I Want Is You' is pretty gorgeous with Bono giving the song his all but his voice has kind of a tearing sound on the high notes. 'Staring at the Sun' is a quite strong performance that features everything you can wish for. 'Radar Love' is the song chosen for Edge's karaoke bit tonight and he definitely sounds a bit lost at points. 'Miami' is an absolutely insane performance with Bono GOING THE HELL OFF WHAT, NAILING THE MOST INSANE SUSTAIN EVER TOWARDS THE ENDDDD! 'Bullet the Blue Sky' features more great energy but overall I've heard greater versions on this tour before. 'Please' is a fantastic rendition with the entire band giving everything they have to offer during this performance. Following a gorgeous transition, we got into a solid rendition of 'Where the Streets Have No Name' but for some reason Bono dodges nearly all "BURNING down love".

The first encore opens with a great rendition of 'Discothèque' with a great performance from Bono (who even goes for a few full voice "SOME-where") and great snippets, including the 'Whole Lotta Love' outro. A gorgeous 'If You Wear That Velvet Dress' follows. 'With or Without You' is a surprisingly strong version with some great lyric changes by Bono. During 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me' Bono shouts for the sound to be fixed; the performance itself is tight. 'Mysterious Ways' is a quite fun performance and 'One' / 'MLK' finish the show nicely

Sound

I've listened to a matrix of the AUD and the IEM and except for a few drop outs, the sound was quite good. Since this option is not available here, I won't give any stars though.
Recording: IEM - 3.5 stars

Audience

Great audience! Although the IEM part of the matrix slightly undersells the audience it's very much noticeable how passionate they are throughout the evening.
