Performance

The band as usual were excellent and full of smiles and interacting with their audience whenever possible. The addition of the podiums for Adam and The Edge added to the interaction. Having seats behind the stage (where I was) was a plus

Audience

The U2 audience never requires any encouragement to join in and did so again tonight but this I guess depends where you are in the arena. The 02 has seats high up so I hope they felt part of it as well.

Overall

As with the IE tour of 2015 it coincided with half term here in the UK so our trip to London started on Monday 22nd. We always stay in the Premier Inn at County Hall so show day is a breeze. Short 14 min ride on the underground from Waterloo to the 02 at North Greenwich. After a short queue to get through the security checks we were in the arena in plenty of time. Even with the group pre sale the top priced tickets were unavailable (although I could have got the them on general sale!) so I took a chance to get a pair just behind the stage on Edge's side and it was well worth it. The show itself was excellent but have to agree with others that 13 is a strange choice for a final song with Bono leaving from the B stage. We usually like to applaud the whole band off but hey that is a minor point. The sound was spot on as it has been for a few tours now - both arena and stadiums.
Overall I would have liked them to tour Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience as one - half a show for each. Not practical as they had an album to promote and it would have meant waiting a few years, plus add JT 30 in the mix!
Three tours in three years is a lot of effort so if they take a few years off they deserve it. Looking forward to the next album and tour.
