Performance

It's definitely strange to see a setlist cut down like this in the middle of a five-show run in the same city and it definitely begs the question if the band just wanted to wing the middle performance in between the Bob Dylan show from last night and the big finale by cutting off any of the non-main "Joshua Tree" set songs (meaning tunes like "A Sort of Homecoming", "Trip Through Your Wires", "Mothers of the Disappeared" or all the covers like "People Get Ready", "I Shall Be Released", "Maggie's Farm" and co. The two star rating on this website doesn't help either, so U2 really needs to step up the performance game to still make this show stand out despite a main set just over an hour!

After listening to the show, I can gladly report that the band and especially Bono are giving EVERYTHING at this show! Just from performances alone, this is without a doubt the best show on the tour so far with many truly fantastic performances, filled with energy and passion, both from U2 and the audience. Bono's adlibbing game is excellent in songs like "Where the Streets Have No Name", "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" (the "Exodus" snippet was completely different to other shows) and "With or Without You", which contained my favourite outro of all time. "Bad" was also magnificent with Bono sounding great and restarting the first verse after apparently helping an audience member to not get crushed. If you can get past the short set, this is absolutely a show to check out!
