1. i am in search of the best live performance of this song. the best ive got is the stockholm 92 version - which is pretty damn good and i dont think it could be topped.
is there ant similar awsome versions out there?
i would also be interested in any variations of the song i.e. acoustic versions.
    thanks in advance
  2. I personally think the London 92 version (05/31/92) is one of if not the best version out there.

At least of the "recordings" of it.

I love it because of 2 things........

1....when Bono sings the "Don't tuuurrrn arrrouuund" for the first time in the song....it's so amazing sounding...because he goes straight into singing in the high octave as opposed to singing it in the lower then going high...PLUS....Larry just tear's into an awesome drum beat as he's doing this.

    2. When he gets to the part of "come on my love...don't you loook back".....he sings something else, on lower note.

I've never been able to make it out...but it sounds something like
    "Come on my love.....sweeping Starla".

    I dont know.

    thats my 2 cents

    -Michael Mitchell
(p.s...i LOVE this song. plus i got to play it on stage in Hawaii)

I LOOVE your performace, fucking brilliant!!!
    AWESOME!!!!!!!

Cheers from Spain, pleesed to meet you!!
  5. I really like the version from Paris 05.07.92. Bono does the sweeping.... bit as mentioned, not sure what he says either! Also, in the last chorus he sings the 'who's gonna drown in your blue sea' in a really cool fashion! That's my fave version but I haven't heard many other versions to compare it to!
  6. Best version for me - London 1992-05-31
Cool lyrics improvisation ("you said there'd be no security...")
    Excellent drums.
Excellent passionate singing, especially starting from "dont turn around".
  7. lots of suggestions here - thanks guys!
any chance of posting these individual songs as i dont want to have to download 4 or 5 full shows for just as many songs.
and michael, truely nice work on stage in hawaii. god id be nervous as hell if bono asked me to come up on stage and play live - but you did such a great job.
seeing you performing with with the band like that filled me with a kind of envious rage [why couldnt it have been me???]

i just hope you know how lucky you are mate.
