1. Btw. I'd love to hear Baltimore show with better audio quality- that Please version is great (first on this tour and last electric before switching to acoustic)

Many of the top-rated recordings are IEM, which I am not a fan of because the metronome drives me crazy despite their terrific quality otherwise.

What are some recordings I should check out?

    Thanks.
Let me shake your hand - virtually of course! - as a recognition of our mutal preference for audience recordings - especially the excellent audience recordings

And certainly from the Elevation Tour there are some absolute gems that I can recommend.

There is the totally awesome and excellent 2001-04-20 San Jose CA recording that is referred to as "Last Of The Rock Stars" : https://u2start.com/shows/1195/#!audio

Then "Heart-Shaped Show" from 2001-06-09 Boston MA is also highly recommended - it's the third show listed on this page: https://u2start.com/shows/1222/#!audio

From the Euro leg you definitely need to check out the 2001-08-19 - London, U.K. Earl's Court second night: https://u2start.com/shows/1257/#!audio

And in terms of sound quality, the first Stockholm show is really good: https://u2start.com/shows/1233/#!audio
(the Vinesh Narayan is the recording I'm talking about - nevermind that IEM...)

And you haven't heard the third leg if you didn't listen to the third Madison Square Garden show: 2001-10-27 New York City NY: https://u2start.com/shows/1272/#!audio
(but for the encore you actually have to watch the video that is in the video section, from about 1:28:50 and onwards...)

But to finish, I can't let you go without referring to the 2001-04-15 Portland OR show: https://u2start.com/shows/1192/#!audio
    - It seems a bit a forgotten show, although it got great reviews from esteemed U2Starters! Besides an excellent recording, this is the show where Bono askes the crowd if anyone found a brown leather bag that he had lost - or probably was stolen - back in 1981 when U2 played Portland, Oregon. Allegedly this bag contained lyrics for the then upcoming "October" album.
    - And recommending this show has nothing to do with my opinion that Oregon is the most beautiful state of the entire USA...
(but I haven't been to Georgia yet...)

Enjoy - and welcome to the club

All the recordings are crystal clear.

Is there a crystal clear recording of the 2nd Chicago show circulating somewhere or are you referring only to the last two shows?

Now here you can see someone who definitely knows what she's talking about ↑↑↑

Absolutely +1 to San Jose 04-20, top5 ET boots for me (also the debut of Kite as @anstratdubh1979 can testify).

...but maybe the subject header is a bit ambiguous...
I think it was only non IEM’s the op was inquiring about because of the count and metronome, therefore soundboard, ALD, etc would all be ok as well as audience.
  6. ALDs are usually crap sounding anyway

OK, I admit my irony wasn't really thought through...
  8. I can give a shout out for 17th July - Paris, France - Palais Omnisports De Bercy.

Not sure if the recording I have is the same is on the wonderful U2START.com but a great show. Full of energy and joy, (Stereophonics warmed up)...his father is seriously ill, he is flying back to Dubs between gigs, the rest of the family are in Paris, he gets his daughters on stage during MW (much to their enbarassment), lots of love in the room, the crowd as usual in Paris are absolutely magnificent.

    >>>>>> ELEVATION achieved.
