1. i've just had my reminder 30 days til my subs lapse
  2. I had this problem last year (renewal date January 14) when they told me to go ahead and renew and that they'd switch to the new gift (book part one) once it was announced.

This came to a head two months or so ago when I got a shipping notice for the CD (which would have been my third copy). I complained (documented way back in the thread) and after some false starts they took care of me (got the good news while waiting at the airport to head to Vegas, coincidentally enough).

The advice I got this time was to renew, and then when they announce the new gift, contact them and make sure that they switch it. I'm optimistic (and I also kept the e-mail this time).

Same position. Renewed last year before the gift was announced. I did contact them the same day and told them I wanted the new gift. But the CD came earlier in the year. I’m hopeful the book is coming too, certainly seems to be in progress, but it’s not here yet…
  4. I have the same problem every year. I just renew every chance I get, end up with double gifts, but at least feel confident I’ll get the next one in line too. I have given up trying to confirm that I am signing up for “next year,” not a duplicate of this year’s gift. They always say they are on top of it, but haven’t been. Is this Live Nation’s deal? Or U2 management? Seems like fixing it would be easy. Still, I can’t say I hate knowing I have back up gifts in case I scratch the ones I opened. The inconvenience of U2 fan club mismanagement is a small wrinkle given the real problems in the world.
  5. Previously they would extend your subscription for free every 30 days until the new gift was announced. Last year they adopted the "renew now and change the gift later" approach.

What is the gift this year? Is it Volume 2 of the Lyric book?
  7. It's a shitshow as always. I renewed my 4 accounts and got 6 gifts sent in return. No surprise they will now skip me for part 2.
  8. It was supposed to be. I can’t help wonder if they’ve changed their plans and that’s why it’s not been announced yet…otherwise this just seems ridiculous.
  9. Got email saying my subscription was running out in 30 days this past Tuesday.Give it 10 more days or so and you’ll get the option for 2024.It was Feb 11th to renew in 2023.No drama,no panic

I recall quite a few moans last year about getting the same gift (albeit Part 1 and 2) two years running; so there was clearly an expectation that 2024 was decided more than 12 months in advance. As you say, the failure to reference this 5 weeks into 2024 does hint at perhaps a change of mind. Even if there are delays in printing vol.2, getting the gift late in the year (or even in the next year, as we are doing now) isn't unusual.
  11. I wouldn't actually mind a part 2 now lol
