  3. For me U2 used to be a band with a fan base who respected each other. I found out during this show that, that is definately over. Unfortunately.
  4. I'm still trying to figure out Bono's "blessings" (before NYD) at the Amsterdam 1 show. I think I got most,
    but some are are hard to decypher....

    For sure the theme was "Dutch masters":

    Blessed is...the city who makes every man and woman a visual artist...
    Blessed is... Vermeer, who [carved out?] the devil [above?] the details of people's lives...
    Blessed is...Hieronymus Bosch [where?] hell never looked like such a bad idea...
    Blessed is...Vincent van Gogh, for his brother made him a poet too...
    Blessed is...Piet Mondriaan, for he showed us the shape of beautiful ideas...

    Then, as NYD just started, also Herman Brood and Anton Corbijn get shout outs
  5. Talked with Bono at the Amstel hotel last week. I asked him when he would play Landlady. He told me about the rehearsels of it. And that they probably gonna play it for the first time at one of the Dublin shows. I requested he should do it the first or second show ?. Love that song!

    Didn't he also bless Jacques Brel's (I think Bono said 'written by a Belgian') Port of Amsterdam on AMS 2 ?

    I think its: Blessed is Vermeer...for God and the devil are both in the details of peoples lives

  10. Hello everybody! I met Bono outside the Amstel hotel on October 8 & we chatted for a little bit. I was behind the barriers, front row in the middle. If anyone has got any videos from that day and has recorded Bono greeting the fans I'd aprreciate if you could send me a pm as I'm looking for our chat in a video ! Thanks in advance.

    Go to YouTube and search for ‘Bono Amstel Hotel’, you will find lots of video’s from more or less that position. I was there as well that day. It took long and were moved around a couple of times by the authorities, but was rewarded at the end of the day.

    I did and the only video I found was cut right at the moment when Bono first responded to me
