I was absolutely gutted this tour when the dates were announced and they weren’t playing in my back garden, would have saved me so much on money and travel, really started the tour on a sour note for me. Lol.

    Totally this
  4. I hope they'll go to Japan aswell, I might go there, always wanted to visit Japan
  5. Japan is great better than OZ only my opinion hope I dont upset our Aussie friends
  6. Will Glasgow be part of the itinerary?
  7. Perth might be so that’s just along the road from me. Pretty cool of them to fit a Scottish gig amongst the Australian dates lol.

  9. So I'm guessing this is going to be either all of the Joshua Tree, or a huge chunk of it, plus some of the rarer stuff that made it into E+I.

3-4 songs from SOE and SOI combined, plus a full Joshua Tree leaves 7-8 spaces in their standard set.

They could definitely do the narrative thing with a complete Joshua Tree in the middle.

    Hey trainmaniac,
Would really love to unleash but I will keep my cool.....
U2 last toured Oz in 2011 and have toured USA and Europe 3 times since. It has cost us a shitload to travel to see them the last 3 years to Europe BUT thats what real fans do. We have been fortunate to be able to manage it but each time is got harder and more expensive. We nearly didn't make it this year holding out that there might have been an Aussie leg at the end of this year but when that looked unlikely we bit the bullet and brought tickets to Milan. Its a huge commitment to make that far out. Can't imagine if we had intended by chance to be at Berlin the night Bono lost his voice, not like we could have flown back over for the replay. ... Would have been devastated.
It is not financially viable for an arena tour to Oz as the cost of transporting the gear and people would outweigh tickets sales in smaller venues so it would need to be stadium gigs.
We all want to share in the experience that is seeing this band live and there are thousands in this part of the world that also deserve the chance to see them "locally".
C'mon, Share the love, support the Oz tour and as always, the Aussie fans would love catching up with fans from all across the world.
    Cheers,
    Greg
