Chicken or the egg ... had they shown more love in this part of the world over the last two studio releases and not neglected it there would be second shows In most cities and first show sellouts across the board !

I think it also needs to be noted that if U2 were playing arenas on this tour, as they have in the US and Europe then they would have to play 6/7 nights in Auckland alone to cater for the number that will attend the two stadium shows. I don't believe that U2 are any less popular here than in other parts of the western world.

On the Lovetown tour in 1989 they played 2 stadium shows in Auckland the 1st night was sold out the 2nd night wasn't even half full so you'd think they'd have learned that doing 2 stadium shows there was a non runner.

They sold over 93k tickets though in Auckland for 360 in the same stadium they’ll be playing this year. That’s more than they would have needed to sell out this year’s shows as the seats behind the stage would have been available for 360 but not on this tour.

Ticket prices are a big factor especially for the casual fan who would go to a stadium show, a lot of them won't pay the exorbitant prices they charge, Bono should be more focused on dropping the ticket price instead of dropping the debt,we know their production costs for the tour are massive with their big screens lighting and sound system but most people would be happy with just a stripped down production without all the gimmicks.
