No one is sending Edge memos asking if it’s OK to record their monitor feeds, so asking the person who recorded those feeds for permission .. 🤔
A taper records a show first of all for his own enjoyment and not to be bootlegged.
  2. If only he/she had band authorization to begin with.
  3. Oh come on, let's not turn this great Saitama thread in another taper war Enough has been said about this and about Vetri.
  4. Nice comment to make at a website that shares recording and bootlegs!

Or do you claim that you only pushing keys in the forum and never download something?

Listen you know the band is fine with sharing bootlegs as long as nobody makes money from them - leave it
  6. Tell that to the tapers that have been busted and handed over to homeland security or the police...

Anyways, Remy is right, let's have taper fight island in another thread.
  7. 100% true... but you quoted the wrong post!
  8. I beg someone actually make a thread called "taper fight island".
  9. BONO: “My feeling, is that it is cool for people to share our music, as long as no one is making money from the process. We tell people who come to our concerts that they can tape the shows if they want. I think it is cool that people are so passionate about our music”

It can't get any more simple than that

Again, you go try telling that to security or the folks at the door. U2 and venue security will actively seek out tapers and shut them down (at a minimum). Saying that "Bono sez its cool bro" will not get you very far.

U2 band members can say whatever they want but it doesn't translate into the real world.

Venue security have their own priorities based on what an individual venue's rules are relating to equipment - U2 will have the final say over what happens to bootlegs/bootleggers because they own the copyright to their material (I don't know how far that extends to visual rights e.g Anton Corbijn's images, the stage design etc but obviously that doesn't apply to audio-only recordings). Homeland Security/your country's equivalent have better things to do that just your door down over a show you recorded
