1. I’ve seen em 6 times outdoors in the UK summertime in the month of August over the years on various tours,it’s dark at showtime then.I just guess it’s down to logistics, stadium availability at what times etc

Personally, my least favourite show was Belfast 1997. The sound was ropey, the stage was higher than other venues and the band seemed nervous. Dublin a few days later was much much better.

For the record I loved Dublin in 2017 and couldn’t believe how good the performances of BD, Elevation and Vertigo were (three songs I can take it or leave it).
Belfast was all those things. Still the most legendary gig to take place in the North all these years later. You’ll not meet many people from Belfast who claim to not have been there.

That’s what it comes down to really so uk dates will always be summer. Brussels was in September though back in 2010 and that was dark. September in the UK would probably be pushing it weather wise. Just looking back there and they did play Edinburgh in September for Popmart 2nd September to be precise so right at the beginning of the month.

September would be fine, I think.

The Police played at Croke Park and the Millennium Stadium in early to mid-October on their reunion tour. Croke in October would be cutting it fine imo but Cardiff with the roof closed would be fine

Fingers crossed then if they do play stadiums in the UK in the future it’s around that time of year. Particularly with the type of technology they bring to these shows playing in the dark is so much better. I don’t think there would be too much of an issue with availability in the national stadiums either only club football stadiums would likely be no go’s because of the season starting. Hampden’s a rubbish venue right enough but I’d still attend, would love to go and see them play in Wales as well, never been there before.
  5. If we’re doing this then Dublin 2017. The first leg of the tour ignited absolutely nothing within me and seeing this show did nothing to enhance that.
  6. My current ranking would be:

    2018-11-10 Dublin
    2018-09-21 Madrid
    2010-09-26 San Sebastian
    2015-09-13 Amsterdam
    2018-11-09 Dublin
    2015-10-05 Barcelona
    2018-09-20 Madrid
    2015-10-06 Barcelona
    2005-08-11 Madrid
    2009-06-30 Barcelona
    2017-07-22 Dublin

Was it setlist? Atmosphere? The idea of an anniversary tour?

And it wasn't.

The America snippet was just the icing on the cake of the fact that they weren't playing ASOH instead of Bad.

Then came RTSS which is a favorite of mine and was a big disappointment, then came Little Things as the closer (when they could have closed with I Will Follow) and everything just added up and up... to rank it as the worst U2 show I've seen.

Is it a big deal? No, it's just a drop in an ocean.
Does it mean it was a bad show overall? No, I'm sure thousands left the stadium really satisfied.
I'm very sad to reckon I didn't. I didn't imagine I would leave the almost-sacred Croke Park after my first U2 Irish gig feeling disappointed, but I did. Why should I not speak about it openly? I'm not one of those who bashes the band just for the sake of it. I'll gladly admit that 2 of the 4 2018 shows I saw by the same band are among the best live shows I've ever seen. Dublin 2017 was just not.

As Gerard said I'm really surprised that you didn't attend the show and still try to fight back when some of us (who did attend it) say it was a bit disappointing
  9. Agree with Dublin17... and 2nd leg of Vertigo. Those would be among the worst too...
My rank would be like this:

    1997-08-14 Prague, Czech Republic
    2009-07-02 Barcelona, Spain
    2015-11-03 London, England
    2010-10-08 Rome, Italy
    2018-06-29 Newark, New Jersey
    2010-09-18 Paris, France
    2018-11-13 Berlin, Germany
    2018-09-30 Copenhagen, Denmark
    2017-07-30 Amsterdam, Netherlands
    2005-08-03 Munich, Germany
    2010-08-10 Frankfurt, Germany
    2011-06-04 Seattle, Washington
    2009-06-30 Barcelona, Spain
    2009-07-18 Berlin, Germany
    2005-07-02 Vienna, Austria
    2009-08-06 Chorzow, Poland
    2015-09-04 Turin, Italy
    2017-07-22 Dublin, Ireland
    2018-07-01 New York, New York
    2005-07-05 Chorzow, Poland

  10. My favourite actually, maybe it was the general atmosphere pre-gig and the set was great too. My least favourite was London 1 on the E&I 2018 tour. Audience were lacklustre and the band seemed uninspired during parts of the show.
  11. Wow, a ranking... I'll try.

    1. 5/7/01- Columbus
    2. 10/22/05- Pittsburgh- Mainly because I was in the front row
    3. 5/24/97- Columbus- first concert ever
    4. 7/26/11- Pittsburgh
    5. 7/2/15- Chicago
    6. 6/26/11- East Lansing
    7. 10/25/05- Detroit
    8. 5/7/05- Chicago
    9. 5/23/18- Chicago
    10. 9/13/09- Chicago
    11. 5/10/01- Indianapolis- basically the same as Columbus, but my personal experience was just not as good.
    12. 7/1/17- Cleveland
    13. 9/10/17- Indianapolis
    14. 10/10/01- South Bend, IN

While I was happy to hear side 2 of the Joshua Tree, and I was thrilled that for once they actually came close(ish) to my area, I was not really a big fan of JT17 overall. I didn't think it made for a good flowing concert.

Interested by South Bend by your least ranked, can you tell us more?
