Could almost be true had they not omitted Zoo-TV - the most ground breaking, direction changing and innovative show of their career.
I suspect at some point this year they’ll be releasing something zoo tv related where they’ll be talking about that as one of if not the greatest tour and shows of all time. Which to be fair wouldn’t be an exaggeration. I think between the YouTube page and hopefully a commercial release we might get some good stuff for AB30, I really am hopeful.
  2. yeh the only good news is that with all this AB neglect it must mean they're planning something

now that would be exciting - as long as it's also not just a re-hash
  3. Yes I'm absolutely expecting an Achtung Baby #30 reissue, and I'm pretty sure the live show that will go with it will be Sydney AGAIN.

If it’s audio only like the JT and ATYCLB boxsets it won’t be sydney because they’ve done that with the fan club. I think the Berlin release proves that they are at least standing by the fan club gifts being unique in terms of physical format. I’m sticking with my Yankee stadium prediction in audio.
  5. Proves what? Both Sydney and Slane have been released physically and then turned into fanclub gifts.

Why Berlin hasn't been commercially released is beyond me, but it might have to do with how strange has 2020 been... Had 2020 been a different year we might have seen Heartland hit the cinemas and Berlin hit the stores, who knows.

Both released physically on dvd commercially then released on cd via the fanclub, 2 completely different formats albeit easy options. They won’t release stuff that’s been in the fanclub in the same format commercially they never have. The closest they’ve came is artificial horizon which was released on cd to the fanclub then vinyl commercially.
  7. I was not talking about formats but about the MUSIC itself. They have LOADS of concerts recorded, sitting in their vaults, and still they choose to release/reissue/rewhatever the same old few shows over and over again, whether it's for fanclub purposes, commercial purposes, social media purposes, etc.

But it does prove that they won’t release the same thing in the same format and as I said the JT and ATYCLB boxsets were audio only so if they wanted to put live material on there I’m fairly certain it won’t be Sydney. I don’t disagree with you about reissuing the same shows in different formats but for the purposes of an AB boxset I don’t think that will be relevant. YouTube maybe for Sydney. I’m only saying Yankee stadium because that would again be an example of a show or shows that they’ve used footage from in the past with the outside broadcast special and then love is blindness released as a b side on stay. I would welcome it though because I’m not a fan of the outside broadcast special with the interruptions between songs plus there’s a good few songs that weren’t included from the show or shows as it could be a mix of both nights.

Sure SM, it's like you were at it or something.
  10. AB30 isn't required, but these are Covid19 times.
  11. It is required if they’re going to put something from zoo tv 92 on it.
  12. From a business perspective it is required because it will make them money.
