  4. Disappointed with the result but still a proud Scotsman today. The players gave it their best efforts just didn’t happen for us and the Czech goal scorer was the difference. We pick ourselves up for the next game though bring on England.

    That’s as generic as it comes. Scotland simply didn’t have the quality. Being proud doesn’t win games. That is all small team mentality. Think small, play small.

    Of course we didn’t have the quality, Czech Republic put the ball in the back of the net (twice) and we didn’t but I think it’s fine margins. You’d only need to swap the strikers from each country around and we’d have probably won the game so it’s fine margins. It’s not a small team mentality it’s just being realistic with expectations, on another day we get a bit more luck and a Czech defender isn’t there to block it or when they do block it it doesn’t go over the bar but into the net. Today that didn’t happen. Mentality alone doesn’t win you games either, you need to have the quality to go with. Still proud to be Scottish. And whilst I know England have more talented players I still have hope that a good effort from the players and maybe a bit of luck will be enough to see us get something on Friday.
  7. O'Donnell and Dykes should have been off 20 minutes earlier. First ten minutes were positive but the stellar Czech defence quickly rattled us and we couldn't work our way into the final third. Robertson and McGinn held the squad together.

    Poor decision-making, ill disciplined, very little vision and communication. If we play like that on Friday then we're toast, but Clarke will revamp the squad. There's an element of not knowing where we went wrong, but we just need to be realistic. We can get a result against England, they were fairly tepid yesterday. Not over yet, but I'm not getting my hopes up too much after today.
