1. nft was polluting? I think U2 was against actions that harm the environment or something like that, I'm sure they mentioned some of that in 2017 so it would be somewhat hypocritical

Do you think we will see U2 NFTs soon? Instead of an AB tour, some never-seen AB era photos as NFTs? NFTs as the next subscription gift?

Oseary is all wrapped up in NFTs. Eno has basically come out very against them. Really probably depends on who the band is listening to as I'm sure they are hearing both sides of it. I'm hoping the fad goes away before U2 gets around to their next major release. Seeing lots of negative press about them of late, so it may happen...

It depends how you look at it but isn’t really poluting imho.
  4. I think it's an injustice that 'Every Breaking Wave' hasn't been one more hit than it was at the time.
  5. Agreed! It's an amazing song
  6. I really think Bono’s bike accident destroyed their momentum. They were KILLING the promo tour in Europe then were supposed to spend a week on Fallon then who knows what else. If they played EBW like they did on Jools or MTV European Music Awards, I think EBW, and SOI, become bigger than it was. There was just nothing done in the US because of the accident

Absolutely. It had way more impact (no pun) in the band's momentum and career than we tend to think. Bono never was and never will be the same as prior to the accident.
  8. My random thought for the day. I was looking back at the u2 songs that have been played live so only original songs not covers and thinking which ones haven’t got either official, proshot or soundboard/IEM recordings and it really is a small list, not promising I haven’t missed a few but I can’t think of any.

    Like a song
    So cruel
    Babyface
    Crumbs from your table
    Lucifers hands
    Wave of sorrow
    Ahimsa

Yeah if you count unofficial sounboards and specially IEMs*, it's pretty much every song except for those you listed... And Holy Joe

*counting IEMs is maybe unfair for this purpose since more often than not they're flawed recordings, therefore why not comparable to audience microphoned recordings. If we exclude IEMs the list grows quite a bit. It actually doubles: The Little Things, Wild Honey, Boy Falls From The Sky, Lucifer's Hands, Window In The Skies, North Star, Glastonbury and I might be forgetting some.

The little things has been released officially live. When you say not including IEM’s would you still include broadcasts and that sort of thing? I have to admit if it’s an IEM with counts in it I don’t keep it on my iTunes unless it’s a show I was at.

Yes because broadcasts/soundboards imply professional mixing and a certain degree of band's tolerance/approval. I'm not saying hoserama and many other IEM tapers aren't professionals - they sure are! But you get the point, it's audience members doing the recordings with their own means and equipment. And I don't care if the IEMs have counts / clicktrack or not, for me they belong to the same group as audience recordings done with aerial microphones.

I don't know any Little Things live recording that has been released?

On the songs of innocence and experience fanclub cd’s little things was released. There was a version streamed on U2.com as well which you could count as a 2nd live release of the song. In regards to your other point North Star would still be ok, the 360 Cape Town show was streamed on U2.com so we could count that. Salt Lake City has a soundboard of wild honey I’m sure that’s soundboard as opposed to IEM so that could count too.
