1. I'll read all this at the end of the day
  2. I do not have high hopes for this, although I'm only basing that off of my intense dislike for the "New Mixes" of all songs on the Best of 1990-2000. I suppose they made "Please" better on the single version but that's about it for me. The band have improved on plenty of songs when playing them live but I feel like that rarely happens when they overthink songs in the studio.

Perhaps this will be different as they are revisiting songs from throughout their career, many years removed in certain cases? I don't know.

I’m hopeful they go for some really out there picks. Songs we don’t hear very much of. Things that got away, or haven’t been revisited a million times.

But I’m sure there will be some more recognizable things as well. You want to sell a few of the hits again to keep the interest up.
  4. It's all just an April Fool's joke.
  5. That new acoustic version of Surrender is not bad at all, with Edge playing some sort of bottleneck on an acoustic (might be a twelve string). Would have loved to have a video of them playing it instead of the lyric video.
I actually like it better than the studio version, but maybe not as much as the live versions from 1982-1985 (?).
  6. Ohhh now that's something. Even though they can still butcher it, but at least gives me more hopes than just a random selection of hits - which would probably be the 15 songs that they've played over 500 times live: Pride, IWF, SBS, Streets, WOWY, One, NYD, BTBS, Still Haven't Found, UTEOTW, Beautiful Day, Mysterious Ways, Bad, Vertigo, Elevation. Now that's one album I would REALLY HATE to see.

But with your approach something much more interesting could be done - without going all in to the deep cuts. For example, I think this selection could work with good rearrangements given Bono's current vocals:

    The Electric Co.
    Gloria
    Surrender
    A Sort Of Homecoming
    WOWY
    All I Want Is You
    UTEOTW
    Stay
    Please
    Kite
    SYCMIOYO
    Magnificent
    Cedarwood Road
    Love Is Bigger

    Would love

    Another Time, Another Place

    Stories for boys

    Rejoice

    I fall down

    Two Hearts Beat as one

    Drowning Man

    The unforgettable fire

    A sort of homecoming

    With or without you

Bullet the blue sky (or exit)

    Heartland

Love rescue me or god part II

Until the end of the world

    Ultra violet

My hopes for this reworked/acoustic album
  8. He's going to recycle the Zelensky poem for the next album, isn't he?
  9. Bad changed to his current version of live...wow
