1. I still need to renew. My subscription has lapsed but i've had loads on over the last month or so, so will probably renew later this month.
  2. Hurry, or you will miss the gift!
  3. I heard they’re going to announce the new gift for 2024 at the beginning of next month

Also CD pressing is backed up as well with current worldwide supply chain issues. Used to take about eight weeks to get one pressed from the time you delivered a release, labels are now being told it could take up to 16. So even if U2.com is working to similar timelines as before they may hit delays elsewhere.
Supply Chain is crazy. I work in Construction/Manufacturing and things like Aluminum Windows are at best 16 weeks from time of order. While it may not take time to press the CD's, it does take time to get your spot in line. That being said, I did a Kickstarter campaign for some custom board game accessories (little plastic trains, whole other side of me) and it took a little over a year to arrive from the close of the campaign. However, along the way we received regular updates, very well crafted and humorous, to the point where almost no one cared that the delay happened (not their fault anyways) and were very much enjoying the honesty and openness. So just give us updates eh? I can understand that the physical copy / pressing is likely beyond their control (though you think that U2 could afford their own machine??) however surely that can't be holding up the digital.....
  5. I work in food and fertilizer manufacturing and it’s insane how bad things have gotten. Yes, I was talking about the physical gift, that’s why I said “if they are working on the same time lines as before…” I suspect they aren’t at the moment because we haven’t seen anything.
  6. Thank you for your explanation of current events "mattfromcanada". I do find it strange how nearly everything has changed since the Corona. Well, that's a whole long/deep conversation I suppose. Cheers!

Can't tell if you're sarcastic or not lol. Really only wrote it out to lead into my personal experience of the Kickstarter. Ah the joys of forums eh?
  8. I can understand the wait for the physical copies getting made, but if the band is able to approve on the tracks and if some or all are completed then they should be able to at least start uploading one or two. Isn’t it similar to how songs get released on iTunes or other streaming platforms?
  9. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, although I often am. Anyhow, my feelings are the same about the delay of download files, why not? Plus I really don't believe in all these "troubles" or should I say reason for them. This is a tough subject but it seems there's an ongoing excuse for people not to do their jobs or maybe they don't have them anymore? Also, I can understand the difficulties of vinyl, but did all the CD pressing plants dissappear already too?
  10. It’s generally a problem worldwide with any sort of industry, the pandemic has made a mess of the supply chains for products worldwide. It takes months to clear some of the delays out there. We make fertilizer. Materials that used to take us a couple of weeks to order and receive are now taking months. We’ve also struggled with getting our product to customers. Just can’t get containers to ship, space in boats etc.

I wasn’t using the supply chain issues as a way of explaining where the gift is. I was saying that once they go into production there may be a delay in getting the physical product done compared to previous years as CD plants are now asking more time to deliver product. Once they say they are in production as they did in May, it may take longer to actually get the physical product because of that. Had nothing to do with the digital downloads or the readiness of the gift in general.

As for cd plants and why they are having trouble? CD shipments took a big jump upwards last year - over 40% from the previous years in the US. As vinyl becomes harder to get onto store shelves, labels have been turning back to the CD to make sure they have product in stores. Seems like a big jump so there must be other things going on. 11. I wonder if the physical copy of Songs of Surrender will be available on launch day.
  12. All of this don't prevent them from giving the first downloads!!!
