It’ll be out before the end of the year. In some format. I do believe they’ll do everything they can to meet that target.
They don’t actually say when they’ll have it released at all do they? I genuinely might have missed that. But regardless even if they did state that I would subscribe and still complain if it got past what I see as a reasonable time even if they only promised it by the end of the year. My point is I don’t care or agree with their target I want them to come up with a better target, even if they’ve stated otherwise I don’t care. I’m not giving them a year I’m giving them about half a year and then I’m complaining, certainly at no tracklist or downloads by that time. In fact I’m complaining almost instantly at no tracklist/downloads when you first subscribe. That’s my expectations and if they want to keep me happy and not to complain they know what to do. I feel the same as several other subscribers so they know how to keep them happy too, regardless of what targets they set themselves.

  2. 1000% but it stems from what seems like you not being able to understand me. You keep explaining the same things to me and I keep telling you it’s they things that I’m complaining about, i understand and I want them to be better as do others. I don’t need a further explanation from you about what u2.com’s targets are. You’re argument is essentially ‘that’s not how they do things’ but I know that and I’m saying how I want them to do things. I don’t think it’s that complicated.
  3. If the gift was in production in May shouldn't the tracks be mixed and cleared legally already?
  4. This argument ends now and here.

Sorry to anyone who were bothered by this endless discussion, and special apologies go to @mich40u2 and the rest of the Zootopia mods, whom we deeply respect and appreciate.

The discussion about U2.com's subscription gift etc. may continue no problem.
  5. Banning folk for an opinion now, Zootopia the 2nd.
  6. I think with hindsight $40 per year is fine when you consider the overall quality of the gifts we've had. Yes there were some duds in there, but just U22, FTGU, Live I&e/e&i, the boy tour 10" and Apollo are pretty amazing gifts among others, and there has been an overall improvement in recent years. Does it matter retrospectively in which month of the year we got those gifts? I'm just happy we have them at all, especially from a band like u2 who don't release so much stuff overall.

Yes usually there's always a way to get a ticket to a U2 show, but through the membership I've had access to some sweet tickets that I wouldn't have had otherwise over the years.

Could u2.com in general and the membership be better? Yes of course. But again $40 per year just for the above stuff is more than worth it for me.
Those who do not agree or see value in the membership, there is no obligation to subscribe.

It's pretty good value. Sting had a tote bag as one of his gifts, for $50 or so.

But we still can complain about lack of communication from u2.com side...

Trust me. I’ve skipped registration a couple of times over the past decade but then somewhat regretted it when tour time comes around. I’ve probably been hanging on for too long at this point but holding on for one last chance to see them (yeah, I was one of those hoping for an AB30 tour) and wanting to get my hands on this year’s gift.
  10. It’d be nice to get an update, is all.

Not because they don’t know, they chose not to know by not demanding answers themselves. If I ran a business and sold a product to a customer it’s my job to chase up the supplier as an owner if it doesn’t arrive on time and my customers complaint lies with me not the supplier. That’s the way it works. Livenation might be the middle man but it’s their job to satisfy their customers. Anyone who thinks the position we’re at with the gift this year is acceptable 7 months into the year is lying to themselves. They might be more patient, I can believe that as we’re all different, but nobody can say they are meeting a satisfactory standard.

Sometimes the sad reality is NOBODY CARES. I try my best to not let it bother me anymore. Bono can ramble on about what a great life we have given them, but they could have been much better with the fan club. I'm sure most fans that meet them who are bothered by the club are too star struck to say anything. I agree with most of what you have been posting, even to a degree about the zootopia thing, but with that...it took me all of ten seconds to figure out they were like any other band website...they don't care either.
Fast Food analogy: Burger King and Wendy's actually used to be excellent. Both have gone way down in quality. My complaints have not helped at all. I'd give up half of my U2 collection for a 1985 Whopper.

I've noticed that complaints in this society do not work the way they used to. Time was, where you complained, they usually tried to make it right. Now, with the slightest complaint, you are some outcast in society even if it is a valid complaint. God forbid you complain about how they overcharged you by $3 on a $10 bill. You are just being a complainer. But what I have noticed, is the most embraced and loved complainer...are those who complain about somebody else's complaining. They are worshiped like they just gave somebody a billion dollars. You are worshiped for pointing out that flawed "negative" person who can only complain. It is strange how somebody complaining about somebody's complaints is also not a complainer.

I'm sure U2 have heard it, but they probably don't really care either. Our complaints won't take away from the great life they have.
