That was the interesting piece the French paper added. And that didn’t come out of the Irish tabloids. Can the band draw people in for more stadium shows in one city if they play less cities? On The Joshua Tree 2019 tour they had a couple of second nights planned in cities that didn’t happen because of weak sales on the first night.

Of course, this Alan Cross guy, supposedly well known...could have taken everthing from this site lol
The French edition of the BONO Memoir is scheduled for release on NOVEMBER 2, 2022, and will be published by ÉDITION FAYARD with title Surrender: 40 songs. One story.
A new studio album, their 15th, will be released in 2023. The title is still unknown.
The new album will be followed by a tour.
U2 will open the new MSG Sphere in Las Vegas and then embark on stadium tour around the globe.
The band is planning to spend one week in each major city in order to reduce their carbon footprint (less travel)
They are scheduled to play Croke Park in Dublin in May 2023 (although that rumour has been debunked by some; it’s apparently actually a booking by Muse).
They will play in California at the new SOFI Stadium
The tour will continue throughout 2023 and 2024
I have been suggesting they play multiple times in the same cities for about 20 years. You save money on travel, and don't put the same milage on the rigors of the road. And if you hit 15-30 major cities, every U2 Start member can see multiple shows!!!! I would be up for 3 for sure. Even if I have to sneak in as Paul McGuinness to afford it. Funny they don't mention the 2 new albums...just one, but perhaps Alan Cross is not a huge fan himself, and did not notice the omission.

No way will Muse play Croke park. Struggled with sales in a 13k arena last time around. But are now playing a 80k venue, at a time when you coule argue their popularity has dropped off.

If they were all 20-35, you might have a point. But they are Senior Citizens.

Why do you keep writing them off as frail old men when they're all less than 10 years older than you according to your profile? Yes, at 56, I have learned to accept that I am not longer young but I don't see myself as old either and I'm damn sure the band don't. Even the true senior citizens like Sir Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger are still rocking around in their 80s, so there's evidence that being older isn't a barrier to touring.
