1. What sort of things has he been involved with in the station?

It's encouraging to know that he's been involved in some way even if behind the scenes.

R.E.M. continued without Bill Berry for quite some time...

Anyway, the author of the article that worried us all has added some more excerpts from the interwiev with Larry - not much to worry about, except for his physical health of course.
  3. Those added excerpts are quite a bit more encouraging, for sure. Glad that he wants to get better in order to tour again, misses the audiences, and enjoys being part of the creative process yet.

That said, the only thing that's still concerning is that original suggestion from Larry that they might tour without him next year. I hope the rest of the band has enough regard for him to say no no matter the pressure from anyone else.
  4. First, good for the author to add context.

New bottom line is he wants to get healed so he can play again, and that he still misses that and still wants to go out and connect with an audience.

It's important to note as well that when Bono got asked about the Vegas thing in one interview, he said "if it happens." At the time, we all thought it was solely realted to the venue being ready or not, but in hindsight, I wouldn't rule out that it all depends on Larry being fit enough. If not, I would like to think they would just postpone it or cancel it altogether rather than having Larry's tech drummer playing live next year.

  6. Whether or not it has anything to do with Larry's decision to speak out about not playing in 2023...

I have an inside line that the Sphere is behind-schedule and likely not ready for a Fall '23 premiere. When I heard what I did, Bono's "they'd kill me if I announced Vegas" made a lot more sense; he can't say anything because they literally don't know when it'll be.
