  2. As you are new to U2 then may be you were not clamoring for an acoustic album from U2...... But as a fan for 37 years, I was and I am sure all long time fans were also.
  3. Does anybody have scans of the individual vinyl album covers?
(if this is not appropriate to ask for please delete my post)

    No
  5. The only thing I’m “clamoring for” is Songs of Ascent with a proper studio cut of Mercy. I’ve never wanted acoustic reimagining. I’ve never wanted any kind of reimagining - what a waste of time. I admit some songs sound good, but they never needed revisiting to begin with. After songs of Ascent, I really wouldn’t care if U2 stopped making music. They have a great catalog of songs with original versions that didn’t need messing with. If Larry is out, I’m out and U2 should be over.

If Larry is out then U2 should be over !! Why ?!
Specially when the main creative force of U2 are Bono & Edge and they are the main reason behind U2's uniqueness, then U2 should continue as long as health permits them.

In respect to proper studio cut of Mercy, I wholeheartedly agree with your wish.

Hello Popmarter (good name by the way )
I do not work for NME or anyone else. It is just written straight out of my heart. Everyone can do what he wants, can listen to what he wants and can think what he wants.

For me it is waisting time and money and what I can hope is, that maybe the U2 music/sound will change back to a better/higher level.
Please do not missunderstood me, I love U2, it is my all time favourite band (Rattle and Hum/Lovetown...my all time favourite album and tour) on the planet. But I will and must be fair with myself. What happened here, is not good...point.
But do not forget please, just in my mind. Feel free to enjoy, and I am happy with you.
    Peace
  12. I've been reading a lot of reviews from critics and regular music fans. Seems like there are two schools of thought regarding this album:

    1) Slagging it, "why would you touch most of your monuments?" and change everything that made them great and what we love about it? Also, it doesn't sound like U2, but as a Bono/Edge project, which exposes their weaknesses. Also, most of it is boring and uninspired

    2) it's a courageous and inspiring move to face your biggest songs and try to create a different perspective. not every song works, but there are some great attempts on the album.
