1. great stadium m'thinks
  2. I was there on my second visit to Munich and I have to say that the stadium looks, at least, impressive. The location is awesome too, the lake besides the stadium, green fields all around... Lovely.

It's wide open too so no sound problems to be expected.

  3. Thanks for that link, Kieran!

I'm pretty sure this is where AC/DC filmed their Stiff Upper Lip DVD...great show, crowd was awesome- hopefully U2's show will really rock the house here. I'm hoping for another very high-energy show on Wednesday.

Couldn't care less if they play/drop Mercy again- it was amazing one night, that was all I needed- they can put it back on the shelf, work on it, keep playing it to perfect it- whatever they want. I'm now fully satisfied with the 360 Tour after last night, so whatever they choose to do is fine with me. This is the best/most diverse tour they've ever played that I've been so involved in. Just keep cranking them out boys, and I'll be happy. I promise.

    No problem!

Yes, it is where AC/DC filmed the Stiff Upper Lip DVD. Also, where Guns N' Roses filmed some parts of the Estranged video. Also where England famously beat Germany 5-1 in 2001.
  5. christ, that stadium looks breathtaking.
  6. It's an amazing stadium, I've seen many concerts there. Sound is usually very good and it has one of the biggest GA areas of all stadiums in Europe. For most concerts, they even set up a second barrier for the GA people. Entrance is a bit stressful, though, because you have to run down what seems like an endless number of steps to reach the pit.

Munich should be special, just because of Bono's history and relationship with the city. In 2005, it was raining a lot during the show and it was a great show. Not hoping for rain, but if it will happen, iit's ok, maybe we'll get another Zurich show. (I know you cannot repeat something so special).

I'm packing my bag at the moment and leaving early tomorrow for Munich. Wednesday should be quite a day because there is also a Champions League game in the Allianz Arena which is not far from the stadium. The Munich public transport agency is already sending out messages to people attending the events because it will be very crowded in the subway.

The stadium can be reached with subway lines U1 and U3. It shouldn't be a problem if you go early enough, but later on and especially after the concert there will be a lot of people from both events, especially in the trains to the main station.

The park is beautiful, you can walk there, sit, take a boat across the water, it's a really nice place. From the Olympic tower, one has a beautiful view of the area and you can basically stay in the area all day. If the weather's fine, that is.

Let's hope it won't rain too much, though from my many visits to Munich I know that it's quite a rainy place, wheather can change very quickly. Everyone take a rain coat and some warm clothing, because it's pretty cold in the evening.

    Enjoy the show everyone
  7. beautiful stadium in a beautiful environment!
