Yes, it's all so unfair...but then to whom you would sell all these "reasonable" priced tickets? (Under the provision that the market is unreasonable?)
Or rather, how would you practically do that? Only u2.com members may buy? And you think that scalpers are not u2.com?

Seriously, it sounds wonderfull: "fans" may buy up to 4, 8, 10, 20 tickets per person for 40 euro/45 dollar a ticket, but everyone can see that a lot of tickets will still end up on the secondairy market, for exactly the same ridiculous prices, or higher.

My point is only that there is just no stopping of the dynamics of the market based economy.

What I think is a reasonable complaint is not so much ticket prices, but rather that U2C members are allowed only 2 tickets, instead of 4. And that a thing like Verified Fan is such an obvious scam, while it has, in theory, the potential of being a solution rather than a problem.

One final thought: last year we bought so-called "Lucky Dip" tickets for The Rolling Stones. Price was 55 euro with the promise that actual place could be anywhere in the building. In practise 50 to 75 percent were GA's, and some 5-10 percecent FOS.
With the U2 cheap seats, you are guaranteed to have a lesser seat, with the Lucky Dip the chances of being just fine were much higher than being in that cheap seat.
Something like this would be great for U2 fans looking for a "reasonable" price.
  3. The Milan 4 top priced seats werent selling at all yesterday so it seems they reduced all of the upper level side seats down to 120 euro.
Seems a bit crazy that they would slash the ticket price on the first day of general sale with the event 8 months away ?

Its lousy on the people who paid top price for those seats too .

You could also argue that U2 is selling a number of tickets on "deflated" or "subsidized" prices. I mean, "inflated" prices are simply a refection of the demand in respect to the supply. Perhaps there are just more people that want to see and hear U2 than the number of tickets available. Just a thought...

You only have to look at the amount of tickets that are still on public sale to see that the prices have clearly put off a lot of people who had the tickets been more reasonable would have bought them. Indoor U2 arena shows and they aren't sold out. i think that tells you a lot. So supply in this case isn't matched by demand. At least at the prices being asked.

There is a reasonable price and there is a market price. If it 's all about greed and screw the fans out of as much money as possible then it's the market price. Just because you can sell at a higher price doesn't mean you should. The only people that you are pissing off and pricing out are a lot of fans. I want to go London 1 but i'm not paying £208 for a seat.

and a lot of those will be U2.com members etc. You should be due a refund if they do this.
  6. ticketmaster just opened up a TON more $46 seats for May 16 in LA (my 40th birthday show), so if anyone still needs this is a great way to get in for cheap.
  7. Overwhelming demand!

Good find. Sections 215 & 221/Row 8 (behind the stage, as wide as possible for a view of the screen), look like very good value. Haven't been able to say that much for this tour.
  9. Arctic Monkeys have announced a UK tour and apparently the most expensive ticket is £80 and their fans are in meltdown! We would have loved for the most expensive ticket for U2 to be £80 haha
  10. Live Nation have truly fucked up this tour

Setups, crews and band's catalogues are not even close to being comparable, but yeah I thought that too
  12. Serves them right. I'm hoping after this tour lessons will be learnt, probably not though. I'd love to see what Paul McGuinness view would be.
