We all probably dream up the ideal Setlist and how to perform it and when the band inevitably don’t tick every single box people have a moan. To be fair could I still make last nights show better for me? Yes I could, but could I realistically ask for more from the band than what they gave us last night? Not really. 4 European leg debuts, 2 tour debuts and all high standard of song performed well, that’s enough boxes ticked for me.
Yes, but it can all be rehearsed before the tour starts. With a better setlist crew. This tour debuts of UF and Stay are a last minute decision. "Oh, we got 4 shows in Milan next, and people were complaining about Paris".

Band at the start of the tour
    - The band is playing the Innocence section and MacPhisto is back! To hell with them, they are lazy

Band at the middle of the tour
    - They are dropping the Innocence section songs and the setlists are stale! They are lazy!

    Band yesterday
    - They dropped the Innocence section and they are not using the screen! The setlist is shorter. They are lazy!
My complaint is that this just took too long. The innocence section WAS lazy. It was a complete rehash and borderline unacceptable. The tour is what, 75% over and now they introduce this? 4 shows in Paris wasnt a good time? 5 shows in the NY area wasn’t a good time? I’m struggling to see what exactly the hold up was. All the fans that so all those shows pretty much got the shaft. I could even see this if it started on the new leg. Bands do change sets in between legs, especially u2. I’m happy fir everyone going forward but it’s ridiculous it took this long to introduce 3 easy to play songs with barely any new visuals.

I'm going to 6 shows this tour. 3 in seats and 3 in GA. All the seated tickets cost me £200 each, 2x London 1, 2x Manchester 1, 2x Dublin 4. £1200 in total for seats alone. I couldn't care less how much they use the screen. Im seeing songs that I thought I would never see live (Stay). I'm seeing the majority of songs from one of my favourite albums (SOE) being performed live. In fact, I would rather see them with my own eyes then see them standing in a screen during songs.
  4. I don’t think the band have done this as a reaction to anything, I think it’s just a case of wanting to change things up maybe for themselves more than anything. Or maybe having a change of heart about how the Setlist looks and feels to play. They had no obligation to make these changes its just what they fancied doing at this moment.

1200 bucks for seats? And they use the screen a few times. Yes, if U2 is just a bucketlist for you. I want a flawless show. And this show is far from flawless.
  6. So? You're point? I am not complaining... I am MTV generation

I have my bootlegs & GA tickets to 3 more e+i shows

I'm a true U2 fan for 26 years. But I'm not going. This show is not worth 205 bucks. Or the GA price including the Fanclub price.

Is any show flawless though? Ask 100 people what they want from a show and you'll get 100 different answers.

Flawless doesn’t exist because it means something different in everyone’s view. You are very much in the minority in being so concerned about the use of the screen.

Funny, because I have heard bitching that they have this state of the art screen and are not utilizing it with new creative theme's and graphics, IE the Iris/Cedarwood section. I'm not saying it is awful. But they should have something more than just a few lights blinking for at least one of the new replacement songs. They took out one of the visual highlights of the screen (Cedarwood Road) which is fine, but replace it with something else cool. Thats all I'm saying. It seems like laziness on the part of Willie more than anything. They usually go along with what he suggests visually. But who knows. Sounded like they had something visually planned for Landlady based on the rehearsal audio.

Oh, and I'm not really "bitching" about anything here. I'm just expressing that they have this technology, use it. Upper deck seats the visuals DO make a difference in this day and age.

TUF was already rehearsed twice before the Paris gigs, Stay was rehearsed during the Paris shows , so don't think that complaints about Paris' setlists had anything to do with the changes. They'll play what they wanna play.
