At the gig I was at this year I was standing right next to the guitars and I could've sworn the beige rick for desire was 6 but I know the fireglo is indeed 12 but I can be mistaking it in my head.

    Hey man! Long time, no-talk!

And I figured as much! - Yes it's Desire
  3. Always a pleasure, good man

@guykirk9 I'd swear it's always 12 strings but the rear tuning pegs can be hard to spot - almost impossible unless you're directly behind Edge, seeing his back (and the guitar's rear headstock). I'm 99% sure that it's a 12, BUT it can be a new 6 string one and I'll gladly eat my hat & words

I will do some more research. Yeah I thought they were always 12 until at the show I was checking it out but like I said I probably am incorrectly recalling that. Get your hat ready just in case

EDIT: Unless its new this tour, it would have to be just a maple version of the fireglo 12 string so I apologize

I think it's got more to do with the viewing angle and the way Rickenbackers' tuning pegs are placed than with you confusing things up, dude They aren't easy to spot!

oh wow I have never seen it close up like that! i didn't realize that was the layout very interesting. Such a beauty of a guitar.
  7. Looking at the strings I keep my impression that it's a 12 strings guitar
  8. Great pic that, conveys the control Larry has. Alpha male.
  9. Is the band selling limited release posters for each show this time? Got a beautiful green one from MSG in 2015.

Well, i was a fan since ca.94'. My first live show was in 97' in my hometown. Since then, i saw U2 in stadiums and in arenas(Which i never liked, U2 are a stadium band to me.). Honestly, i'm just sad where they are going thru. Since, lets say 00', they try to please the masses. It worked out for some time, but i never liked it. These days, U2 are not even a shadow from theirselves, to me. But, you know, you always hope something strange like POP happens again. I't never happened.

I'll just add that I am in agreement on many of your points:
    1. I also like stadium U2 better than arena U2.
    2. I agree that they've tried too hard to "please the masses" since 2000.
    3. I love Pop and PopMart.

All of which puzzles me when you're not really giving this E&I tour much of a chance, it seems. When I saw the show in Chicago, it was multisensory, theatrical, and clearly well-thought out in terms of song choice and overall production/showmanship: the MRI sequence/Bono emerging to sing LIAWHL and the band playing inside the "barricage" to start the show, a screen that interacts with the band in a far more thrilling way than the LED wall on PopMart even could do, Bono resurrecting MacPhisto for the E stage rockers and ACROBAT, the lightbulb returning at the very end, etc...
  11. listening back to Montreal2 from 2018 this morning, i had the small observation that it didn't open DIRECTLY with the MRI "inhale exhale" bit, like e+i did earlier in the tour.

In this case, AFTER Love Is All We Have Left, during the BlackOut intro noises, there is the "inhale, exhale" voice over clip (but NO loud MRI scanning noise)
  12. It was probably just an editable soundfile that they changed on a nightly basis.
