1. Agreed. For once. I usually loathe their reviews. A bunch of snarky twats

I did that yesterday,... out of couriosity checked out the ghosts town in Nevada, and it looks like they were driving NV165 passing Nelson Ghost Town on they way to LV. (45:59 time mark)

  3. I agree with their conclusion that this could have been issued as a fan club album or collection of B-sides - certainly earlier than 2023 - and been received a lot better. Also about this basically being an Edge project that he invited Bono to sing on and not a full band effort.

But I also feel like they are kind of missing the point of the album. None of these reworked versions are ultimately claiming to be "necessary" or seeking to "replace" or "transform" the original, and that's okay with me. They are simply modern, stripped-down takes from the vantage point of a band looking back at their career thus far and finding new ways to connect with them, or in some cases change their resonance for today. I have no problem with that.

(Also, as a lesser point, I found it interesting that some of the "highlights" for the reviewer are the ones I like least - "Desire", "Dirty Day", "Still Haven't Found" among them...)

The did it to please themselves and I want more of that approach.

Very well said. I find ithe recordings far more interesting than good. But if they felt they needed to do it, fine. Now it’s out of their way, I hope for an album with some energy in. Personally I didn’t want them to do old songs with no energy. I need them to do new songs with the old high energy.

I mostly agree, except they are replacing the some songs live. Which makes me not happy.
  6. I keep loving the album and so does the whole family.
  7. Sting and Bryan Adams did reworked version of their old material but both didn't deviate much from the original versions infact I don't understand why they didn't It was just copy and paste, at least U2 tried something different and gave the songs a new twist it might not always work but it's interesting to hear different versions of their classic songs.

  8. Finally my copies arrived today! So..
